Ancient Oak and Mound Adventure

Exploring some ancient trees and mound formations throughout this Florida wilderness. Along the way I find some incredible Oak trees and scenic cypress swamps. Native American Indians in this area hundreds and thousands of years ago mined and utilized the limestone here for various purposes, such as making tools and weapons. They built limestone mounds and hunted the surrounding areas. Later in time logging trams were built up here in the swamps and many of the old trees were logged. Today nature is reclaiming this wild space and some traces from the past can observed and it's nice to see some of the old trees still out here in the Florida woods.
