Founder of the Switzer Report Peter Switzer says NSW planning boss Jim Betts is “certainly not turning up to auctions” in the state, where “a whole lot of young and older people” are missing out due to exorbitant prices.
Jim Betts, who is leaving his role as secretary for the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment to lead the Department of Premier and Cabinet, recently described the state’s housing crisis as “a slogan”.
“There is a housing crisis, and anyone who says there isn’t has no idea what’s going on in the real world,” Mr Switzer said.
