Background: I grew up as a foster child. My last foster home, which I went to when I was 16, was with John and Jane (fake names). They had me do house chores and take care of my foster siblings while they ran their store which was attached to the home, and would sometimes even have me work there as well (they wouldn't pay me so I'd just take money from the cash register every now and then, probably took out $1000 over the course of almost two years).
